Work Fashion Blogshops

Posted on August 29, 2011 by admin

Dressing for work could be a blessed curse with 20 working days a week, and 52 weeks a year, and a fashion philosophy NOT to be seen in the same dress twice for as long as your colleagues can remember Finding an affordable source of quality, fashionable work dresses could be the greatest thing that happened to you other than that year-end bonus.

Here are some answers to your prayers:

TOP OF LIST: MICH SARA ONLINE BOUTIQUE

WE LOVE: Their boutique quality work dresses at a fraction of the price. New launches every other week ensure you’ll have plenty of choice.
MINUS: Popular designs usually sell out first, so your fav dress might be out of your size/color. Also, sizes are usually catered for XS – M, only limited designs with Large sizes.

Sizes, measurements, what is “PTP”?

Posted on August 29, 2011 by admin

”Point to point”, “port of tanjung pelapas” and “picture transfer protocol” are NOT what “PTP” stands for although these are the search results you get when you try to google this term, lol.

PTP in blogshop terms is “Pit to Pit”, and it stands for the length measured from one armpit of the dress to the other arm pit when the dress is laid down flat.

Two things to note about this measurement:

1. It measures from armpit to armpit, not your chest, so in fact for some dresses this length is slightly above the chest, so it might be smaller than the max chest circumference.

2. It’s measured when the clothing is laid down flat which means:

- It’s half of the circumference, so you need to X 2 to get the circumference (in case you’re wondering who on earth has an 18″ chest. ahem.. )

- It’s measured while the clothing is unstretched, which means potentially for clothing which is slightly stretchable the PTP could expand more. Blogshops usually give a range, the larger range being stretched. If you’re not keen on tight fitting dresses, try not to get the max point of the PTP. Usually the dress is best suitable for people who are around the unstretched PTP point. Most comfy too.

Sizes

Lots of blogshop clothes are free sized, which means you have to depend on the measurements to determine if you’re suitable.

In general, free sized clothes are S size or UK6. Only in rare occassions (e.g. baggy designs), that free size readily fits M or L well. Some free sizes are as small as XS.

Nowadays, free size clothing also cater more to the height range of 1.57M – 1.65M. So if you fall between these size and height categories, good for you, you have your pick of clothes :p For the larger M and L sizes like myself, there are still designs you can choose but do be careful, especially if you are a sucker for comfort like myself, not to depend too much on the “stretch”. If you search harder, there will always be designs with larger sizes that look equally great on you with more comfort as well
